Title: Apocrine sweat glands II in skin
Description:
(A): Axil, stain Azan, human.
(B): Axil, stain hematoxylin-azophloxine, human.
(C): Head skin, alkaline phosphatase reaction (frozen section), monkey.
In the phosphatase reaction the positive myoepithelial cells are stained reddish-brown.
The tubuloalveolar apocrine sweat glands have a wide lumen (A - C). Between the basal lamina and the secretory cuboidal cells
a complete covering with myoepithelial cells is found, needed to squeeze out the secretary content stored in the wide ampulla
of the gland. The basal lamina surrounds both layers, i.e. of myoepithelial cells and secretory cuboidal cells.
Keywords/Mesh: skin, apocrine sweat gland, myoepithelial cell, histology, POJA collection
