Title: GPOX staining in seminiferous tubules in testis
Description:
(A) Stain iron hematoxylin-thionin, rabbit. (B) GPOX, pig.
(A): Note that the GPOX activity is localized primarily and predominantly in the spermatids that are located with their acrosomes
(stained red in A) within the cytoplasm of the Sertoli cells.
(B): The enzyme glyceroposhphate (GPOX) is indicative for maturing spermatids housing within the Sertoli cells functions. The differentiating spermatocytes are negative. Interstitial Leydig cells reveal some mitochondrial activity.
Keywords/Mesh: testis, seminiferous tubule, glycerophosphate oxidase, histology, POJA collection
