7.2 POJA-L1835+1805+1809
Title: Cervical intraepithelial neoplasm (CIN) (human, adult)
Description: Stain: Hematoxylin-eosin.
(A): Normal squamous epithelium (low magnification).
(B): Higher magnification of CIN 2-3 (moderate - severe dysplasia) with keratinization (1) and mitoses; lower 2/3 occupied by undifferentiated cells with loss of polarity; stroma with chronic inflammatory cells (*).
(C): Higher magnification of CIN 3 (severe dysplasia - carcinoma in situ), intact basement membrane, loss of polarity of epithelial cells and pleomorphism of all cells. Note mitoses, increased nucleus/cytoplasmic (N/C) ratio of cells in B-C. (Partly by courtesy of G.P. Vooijs MD PhD, former Head of the Department of Pathology, Radboud university medical center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands).
Keywords/Mesh: female reproductive organs, cervix, CIN, cervical tumor, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), carcinoma in situ (CIS), uterine cervical neoplasms, histology, POJA collection.
