The oxidative enzyme activity detection is used to monitor the heterogenous metabolic activity of the chondrocytes.
(B): Low survey of the ultrastructure of chondrocytes also shows a heterogeneous aspect of the population. Depending on the section not all chondrocytes show nuclei. Most cells contain a well-developed cytoplasm with numerous organelles, often large areas with glycogen or lipid inclusions.
