4.1.1 POJA-L4032+4048+4049+4050
Title: Goblet cells in the jejunum (human, rat, gerbil)
Description: Stain: (A) Azan, human. (B, C) Electron micrographs, rat. (D) Electron micrograph, gerbil.
The blue stained goblet cell (A, 1) is positioned between resorption cells or enterocytes which have a characteristic brush border (2).
(3): Lymphocyte in diapedesis between the epithelial cells.
(B, C, D): The goblet cell (1) is filled completely with large electron gray secretory granules that become extruded to the lumen of crypts and digestive tube yielding a smear as shown in (A). The resorbing enterocytes possess a brush border of microvilli (2) (C, D).
Keywords/Mesh: jejunum, goblet cell, enterocytes, electron microscopy, histology, POJA collection
