6.1 POJA-L3827+2656+2659
Title: Embryonic and juvenile testes
Description:
Stain hematoxylin-eosin, human. (A) Early fetal stage. (B) Fetal stage. (C) Juvenile stage (5 years).
(A, 1): Seminiferous cord.
(A, 2): Interstitial tissue.
During fetal development (A, B) to the juvenile stage (C) the convoluted seminiferous tubules (B, 1 and C,1) show already a heterogeneous composition of cells arranged like multiple epithelium indicative for spermatogonia and Sertoli cells. However, different stages of spermatogenesis are not yet observed.
(A, B, C, 2): The interstitial loose tissue already has a heterogeneous appearance due to the presence of the future so-called Leydig cells.
Keywords/Mesh: testis, fetus, Leydig cell, Sertoli cell, spermatogonium, histology, POJA collection
