Title: Large cell non-keratinising squamous cell carcinoma, cervix (human, adult)
Description: Stain: Hematoxylin-eosin.
(A): Survey of exophytic tumor (1) in lumen of cervix (2). The invasive squamous cell carcinoma appears here as a papillary mass and infiltrates the desmoplastic stroma (3).
(B, C): Invading tumor shows anastomosing bands or cords of neoplastic cells (4) without keratin pearls. Cells are relatively uniform with indistinct borders. Stroma (5) contains chronic inflammatory cells and smooth muscle cells (6).
