(A): Isthmus with lining epithelium, basally lymphocytes (→). It’s almost impossible to discern basal stem cells.
(B): Low magnification. (1) lumen; (→) shows basally localised lymphocyte between the epithelial cells.
(C): Higher magnification shows ultrastructually far more better a true basal stem cell (2). (3) nuclei of ciliated cells; (4) collagen fibers in the proper lamina and a basal lamina (BL).
