4.1.1 POJA-L4159+4160
Title: Mucus producing adenocarcinoma of the colon (human)
Description: Stain: (A) Hematoxylin-eosin. (B) CO-TL1 monoclonal antibody immunoperoxidase staining with diaminobenzidin reaction (DAB) and hematoxylin counterstaining.
The tumor is well differentiated and secretes mucin (1) that is stained positively in (B) with the monoclonal antibody CO-TL1 specific for colon associated antigen. The antigen is secreted by the tumor cells into the lumen of the gland-like adenocarcinoma. Mucins are involved positively or negatively in tumor progression and inflammation. Mucinous carcinoma of the colon and rectum comprise about 15% of colorectal carcinomas.
Keywords/Mesh: colon, adenocarcinoma, mucus, CO-TL1, colon-specific antigen, histology, POJA collection
