(2) pars nervosa or neurohypophysis or posterior lobe with neurosecretory nerve fibers; (3) intermediary lobe with colloid cysts (4).
(B): Shows in detail the colloid cysts (4) which are lined by simple cuboidal epithelium.
(C): Pars intermedia and pars distalis with acidophilic cells (5), colloid cysts (4), basophilic cells (7), and chromophobe cells (6).
(D): Shows detail of a colloid cyst that is lined by simple cuboidal epithelial cells. The colloid content and cell fragments are stained bluish and red.
