Title: Fetal development of adrenal gland in human
Description:
(A): Development embryonic medulla, stain Azan. (1) Ingrowth of nerve fibers in (2) the future adrenal cortex.
The fetal cortex is derived from the mesoderm, it is here indicated by aggregation of mesenchymal cells (2).
The adrenal medulla is derived from the neural crest cells that migrate from sympathetic ganglion cells.
After encapsulating the fetal cortex the former neural crest cells differentiate into secretory cells.
Mesodermal cells then surround the medulla.
(B): Adrenal gland, stain trichrome Goldner, fetus. (1) Zona glomerulosa. (2) Zona fasciculata.
Zona reticularis is not recognizable until the end of the third year.
Keywords/Mesh: adrenal gland, fetus, histology, POJA collection
