14.1 POJA-L6083 Rat dermomyotome (24h development)
14.1 POJA-L6083 Rat dermomyotome (24h development)
Title: Rat dermomyotome (24h development)
Description:
(1) In the vicinity of the neural tube epithelioid cellular formations i.e., dermomyotomes (or dermatomyotome) are localised. Myoblasts will differentiate out of these myotomes. Several mesenchymal cells (2) in mitosis (note the dark-stained mitotic figures) (24 hours). Note few scattered dark-stained mitotic figures.
Mesenchymal cells (2) differentiate into clusters of myoblasts (1) which become arranged along the neural tube. (Epaxial) muscles arise by translocation, re-orientation, and elongation of the myotomal myocytes followed by cleavage of the myotomal masses. Myotomal myocytes transit from a mononucleated to a multinucleated state just before onset of this transformation.
Keywords/Mesh: locomotor system, skeletal muscle, striated muscle, muscle development, dermomyotome, myotome, myoblast, histology, POJA collection
