4.3.1 POJA-L-3803+3804+3805
Title: Mucosa of the gallbladder (dog, cat)
Description: (A) SDH-histochemical staining of the epithelium (dog). (B, C) Heidenhain hematoxylin, (cat).
In (A) exclusively the epithelium is stained positively for succinate dehydrogenase activity, as a marker enzyme for mitochondria. This is related to the energy requirement for the water transport through the epithelial cells in order to concentrate the gall liquid.
(B, C) show the surface folding and amplification by plicae. Note small capillaries and lymph vessels in (C) (arrows) up to the top of a (villus-like) plica.
Keywords, Mesh: gallbladder, oxidative enzyme, SDH, histology, POJA collection
