Title: Seminal vesicle
Description:
(A) Stain Azan, human. (B) Silver stain, rat. (C) Electron microscopy, gerbil.
(A): The seminal vesicle (or glandula vesiculosa) is a tubule which interior is composed of labyrinth-like folds of the mucosa.
Its lining epithelium is single-or two-layered pseudostratified with high columnar cells with secretory activity.
(B): The silver stain procedure focusses on the supranuclear well-developed and darkly stained Golgi factory needed for
the production of the secretory liquid.
(C): Shows the extensive RER (rough endoplasmic reticulum), Golgi areas (*) and
numerous secretory vesicles characteristic for these cells.
Keywords/Mesh: seminal vesicle, seminal gland, glandula vesiculosa, histology, electron microscopy, POJA collection
