Title: Spermatids with acrosome formation in testis
Description:
(A) Stain iron hematoxylin-thionin, rabbit. (B, C) Electron microscopy, guinea pig.
The maturation or cell differentiation or the spermiogenesis is initiated at the Golgi area in which specific glycoproteins
and hydrolytic enzymes are produced in the Golgi vesicles that fuse to a larger acrosome vesicle located just above the nucleus.
Eventually the so-called acrosome cap is indicated with arrows in (A) and in (B).
In (C) the acrosome vesicle has been enlarged considerably.
Keywords/Mesh: testis, spermiogenesis, spermatid, acrosome, histology, electron microscopy, POJA collection
