14.1 POJA-L6072+6024+6027 Striated muscles with cross band pattern (human)
Title: Striated muscles with cross band pattern (human) Description: (A): Azan staining. Survey of (1) striated muscles of the oral cavity with gland structures (2). Generally skeletal muscles are fixed by connection via tendon to bones with exception of some areas e.g., the facial muscles, oral cavity, diaphragm, anal region. In this example muscle fibres are firmly embedded and fixed in the submucosa of the oral cavity. The tips of the fibres are radiating away in peripheral direction deep into the connective tissue around the glands. (B): Azan staining. Higher magnification shows fine striation in longitudinally sectioned striated muscles with A- and I-bands. (C): Iron-haematoxylin staining. High magnification. Elucidating A-band (dense) and I-bands (light) with very thin Z-lines in between. The erythrocytes in the capillary (3) are also stained black.
