Title: Colon-specific antigen expression in adenoma and adenocarcinoma of colon (human)
Description: Stain: (A, B, C): CO-TL1 monoclonal antibody immunoperoxidase staining with DAB and hematoxylin counterstaining. The adenoma cells (A) express the CO-TL1-defined epitope (colon-specific antigen) strongly in the apical and surface site of the cells.
In (B) the moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma cells (2) show a lower expression level compared to the well differentiated cells (1), while the expression level in undifferentiated adenocarcinoma cells (C) is even much less.
CO-TL1 antibody recognizes a 330kDa isoform in normal colon cells, but a 165 kDa isoform in colon tumor cells, with a decreasing expression level in less differentiated tumor cells.
