4.1.1 POJA-L4147+4175+4177
Title: CO-TL1 antibody staining of gastrointestinal endocrine cells in colorectum (human)
Description: Stain (A1, A2): CO-TL1 monoclonal antibody immunoperoxidase staining with diaminobenzidin reaction (DAB) and hematoxylin counterstaining. (B) Immunogold (5nµ) staining of the electron dense endocrine granules.
The blue arrows in (A1, A2) point to the subnuclear staining of granules in endocrine cells. Note that the absorptive enterocytes or colonocytes are stained preferentially at the apical site of the cell.
The antibody-associated gold particles in (B) are spread on and around the endocrine granules. Enteroendocrine cells (EEC) produce various hormones like 5-HT, serotonin, somatostatin, peptide YY, GLP-1 or glucagon-like peptide 1, GLP-2 or glucagon-like peptide 2, glicentin, oxyntomodulin, and others as stained as chromogranin-A, synaptophysin, affecting the absorption and secretion activity of the colon.
Keywords/Mesh: colon, rectum, enteroendocrine cells (EEC), CO-TL1 antibody, electron microscopy, histology, POJA collection
