Description: Stain: May-Grünwald-Giemsa (MGG).

​The basophilic erythroblast (1) shows slightly condensed chromatin and a strong basophilic (blue) cytoplasm. In the two polychromatic erythroblasts  (2) the chromatin condensation has progressed considerably, and the cytoplasm is much less basophilic. These cells are also smaller than (1).
