Title: Well differentiated adenocarcinoma of the colon
Description: Stain: (A) Hematoxylin-eosin, human. (B) Colon-specific monoclonal antibody (CO-TL1) and immunoperoxidase staining with DAB and hematoxylin counterstaining, human.
The well differentiated adenocarcinoma secretes moderate amounts of a mucin that is stained positively in (B) with the monoclonal antibody CO-TL1. The positive secretion is located in the lumen of the gland-like structures, but also within the tumor cells. Mucins are involved positively or negatively in tumor progression and inflammation.
Keywords/Mesh: colon, adenocarcinoma, mucus, CO-TL1, histology, POJA collection
