Title: Anaplastic cervical small cell carcinoma (human, adult)
Description: Stain: Hematoxylin-eosin.
(A): Macroscopy of tumor (1); cervix (2); vagina (*).
(B): Survey tumor (1); ectocervix lining (2a); endocervix area with glands (2b); accumulation of lymph vessels with tumor cells (dark blue-stained) (3); fibrocellular stroma with blood vessels.
(C): Higher magnification of B. Squamous epithelium of ectocervix (2a); within the stroma infiltrated sheet-like formations of tumor (1) and numerous lymph vessels (3) stuffed with metastasing clumps of packed malignant cells.
(D): Close to the cervical glands (4) tumor cells in anastomosing sheet-like formations (5) and in between solid growth in rosettes (6). Malignant cells are dark-stained with scanty cytoplasm and very hyperchromatic nuclei.
