Title: Congestive hepatopathology (human)
Description: Stain: Hematoxylin-eosin.
The congestive hepatopathology is characterized by perisinusoidal fibrosis (1) and centrilobular sinusoidal dilations (2). The congestion pattern is also called Nutmeg liver and is often related to cardiac cirrhosis. Note also the considerable infiltrate. (3) Heavily infiltrated periportal area. Sinusoidal dilatation and congestion in liver biopsy is associated with venous outflow impairment in two thirds of the cases.
