Title: Spleen with central artery in lymphatic nodule (human)
Description: Stain: Azan.
The white pulp consist of: (1) a cross-section of the central artery, (2) the germinal centre with few branches of the central artery.
The mantle zone (3) and the marginal zone (4) as a perilymphoid zone of red pulp immediately surrounding the nodule and is composed of concentrically arranged anastomosing fine vascular channels draining into the sinusoids or directly into venous sinuses.
At (5) macrophage-sheathed capillaries in the red pulp.
At the right side dilated venous sinuses (*).
