Description:
(A): ZFFA or acid phosphatase, glomeruli are negative, tubules are positive. Less activity in the medulla.
(B): AFFA, or alkaline phosphatase. Glomeruli negative, all cortical tubes are positive. The whole medulla is negative.
(C): Mg-ATPase or Mg- adenosine triphoshatase. The glomeruli are strong positive; the outer cortex is positive, much less activity in
the inner cortex and medullary areas. Glomeruli do have a different enzyme pattern compared to tubules.
Note that there are also species differences in enzyme activities.
