14.6 POJA-L6089+6090+6091 Skeletal muscles with ring fibres (human)
Title: Skeletal muscles with ring fibres (human)
Description:
Ring fibres are non-specific and sporadically found in normal skeletal muscles (e.g., uvular muscle), Iron-haematoxylin. They are frequently encountered in myotonic dystrophy but without any pathological consequences. The central core of normal longitudinally oriented myofibrils (*) is surrounded by circularly winded myofibrils (←). Bundles of myofibrils run at right angles to the main body of the myofibre resulting in the appearance of a striated annulet (arrow) around the myofibre in (C).

Keywords/Mesh: locomotor system, skeletal muscle, striated muscle, neuromuscular disease, myopathy, ring fibre, histology, pathology, POJA collection
