4.1.1 POJA-L4111+La265+4113+La0266
Title: Intermediate zone of the anal canal (human)
Description: Stain: Hematoxylin-eosin.
(A): The epithelium in the intermediate zone changes from skin epidermal type (2) to non-keratinizing multilayered epithelium (1).
The lamina propria area here contains many artery-venous anastomosing vessels, the so-called hemorrhoid plexus (3), thin walled.
(4): Fat cells.
In (D) an abrupt transition of the intermediate zone epithelium into digest tract epithelium is shown. The colorectal mucosa forms crypts (5) (no villi) and predominantly produce mucus.
Keywords/Mesh: colorectal area, anal canal, histology, POJA collection
