Title: Vas deferens
Description:
(A) Scheme. (B, C) Stain Azan, human.
The vas deferens (or ductus deferens, ejaculatory duct) connects the epididymis with the urethra. The deferent duct is
lined with a two-layered pseudostratified columnar epithelium (1) with some irregular folds or protrusions,
bearing short stereocilia. Just a small, thin lamina propria (2) is present. The tunica muscularis (3) is strongly developed
and consists of three layers, an inner and an outer longitudinal muscle layer and a middle circular muscle layer.
The tunica adventitia embeds many muscular vessels derived from the testicular artery and the deferential arteries.
Keywords/Mesh: testis, vas deferens, ductus deferens, deferent duct, histology, POJA collection
