Title: Prostate gland
Description:
(A,-D) Stain Azan, human.
(A): Survey of the branched single tubuloalveolar structure of the prostate gland. The gland is embedded in a fibromuscular stroma,
in which the muscle fibers are stained red, as detailed in (B, C and D). The ducts (1) of the glands end in the urethra.
The epithelium of the tubuloalveolar glands in (B) forms folds or plicae creating a labyrinth-like structure.
The lumina are lined with simple cuboidal epithelium with secretory activity (vesicles).
(D, E): display the presence of the so-called corpora amylacea, concentric oriented concretions, originally composed of glycoproteins
that became condensed and calcified exposed as prostatic stones occurring in aging men.
Keywords/Mesh: prostate, tubuloalveolar gland, prostatic stone, corpus amylaceum, histology, POJA collection
