16.1.3 PO JA-L7141+7051+7028B Foetal remodelling
Title: Foetal remodelling
Description:
(A+B): Human foetus. Trichrome Goldner stain.
(A): Stage with minimal signs of remodelling of the cartilage shape.
(B): Clear signs of foetal remodelling. Osteoclasts tend to gather to dislocate and resorb bone fragments and create more space.
(C): Azan stain. Fibrosis, infiltration and formation of capsule. There is distinct irregular breakdown and remodelling.
(1): Connective tissue sheet including periosteum.
(2): Bone matrix (incompletely mineralised).
(3): Hyaline cartilage.
(4): Connective tissue sheet including perichondrium
(5): Nerve fibres
(6): Capillary
(7): Connective tissue with activated osteoclasts (multinucleated large cells) and cellular infiltrations.
Keywords/Mesh: locomotor system, bone, foetus, remodelling, osteoclast, osteoblast, POJA collection, histology
